Forgetting

Uhh....I've almost forgotten about my English blog. I've several reasons for that, but lately I've been too busy to write any posts here.

Firstly, I finished with my studies in the BA program. I'm glad because of that as I could fulfill all my compulsory courses in time. My BA thesis succeeded quite well: I got a 5 for that!!! I was (and still I am) so happy 'cause I spent a lot of energy to do my best.

Secondly, I created a Hungarian blog, too, so sometimes I prefer that one instead of this. I don't know but sometimes it's easier for me writing in Hungarian.

Thirdly, it's summer again...time for relax, forgetting (bad memories, of course) and fun. This summer is gonna be different for me compared with the last one. This school year ended in a different way, in other words without heartbreaking. At least with me. But I broke a boy's heart and I feel a little guilt for that. It's like a twisted déjá-vu but I had to do it because I cannot pretend for a long time as if everything was so good and true.

What bout my plans for the summer? Doing as much pleasurable things as possible: watching film and series I like, being with my family, going to parties and working (earning money for later time at the same place where I was working last summer).

Have a nice holiday! :)

Welcome back...

...to school, of course. When I finished my exams in the mid January, I didn't want to see the uni for as long as possible. Unfortunately, this hiatus lasted only for two weeks. As I'm a third-year BA student, this two-weeks period was important for me: I had to start writing my BA thesis. I had collected many books and articles in connection with my topic so far, so I "just" had to start the analysis. When I'm writing this post I'm almost halfway done. Which means that I completed two chapters, and I have to type a few pages in the analytical part of my thesis. I hope it will be correct in every sense: form, style and content.

This semester (compared with the previous ones) seems to be the most interesting. As I've finished with the English minor, I don't have any compulsory English lessons. As for my major subjects, I have only 3 Italian courses. All in all, I have a really small number of subjects. I can clearly remember for this time last year when I had to do a big game with time: to put as many courses in my daytime as possible. So, now I have enough free time to do some leisure activities: I can spend more time with my friends, I can watch those films that I used to planned to watch and sometimes I can do some sports, too.
So, welcome back to my last semester in the BA program!

Winter break

Happy New Year! Wow, it's incredible that it's 2009. 2008 was one of my best years, so I hope that this year will be similar, or even better. :D

When I'm writing this post I'm at the end of the Christmas holiday. I was waiting for this period because the last 3 months had been really hard for me. What I mostly like in Christmas is togetherness: each member of the family can feel love and harmony. I was glad spending more time with my brothers because they were busy in the rest of the year. We were talking a lot, watching films and decorated the tree... So, sometimes it's good being home with whom we love...:)

The greatest week

This week has been the best since September. There have happened so many events that changed my life.

The greatest news is that I can continue my further studies in Pécs, because the accreditation of the Italian MA was successful. This means that I don't have to move to another city. Well, getting to know a different town, a different uni wouldn't be bad, but it would take me a lot of time to integrate into a new community. To tell the truth, it took me a little more than a year to feel that I am home in Pécs.

The other good event was that I could talk to my consultant. The topic that I have chosen (The conception of the night in the era of Ugo Foscolo) is unique because there are no thesis that deal with this issue. So, it seems that I'll be the first who writes about this. My teacher gave me some guiding lines, which helped me a lot because I hadn't known how to start my writing.

The third thing that was enjoyable in this week was going to the cinema with my friend. The film (Mamma mia) was extremely good: I liked the story, the scenes, the plays of the actors/actresses and the songs, of course. This film made me happy and was a good one for entertainment.

And finally....I will live in the Balassa Dormitory again! The whole procedure was adventurous, but it was worth. It will be cheaper, I will have a stable Internet, I will see my friends again and the circumstances for studying will be more sufficient.

So, I'm very happy now and I feel that I'm in the right place again! :)

Changes

It's October! So soon, I just cannot really believe it! I'm over September.

The first month of this school year was quite interesting for me. I had to get used to several things.
First, I'm living in a flat (instead of the dorm, which makes me sad). It's very close to the uni, so I don't have to get up so early to arrive at my lessons. Due to this fact I can save a lot of time and I don't have to be in a hurry all the time.
Secondly, my flatmates are very kind students, I can easily get on well with them. Although they have a little bit different lifestyle than me, but we can tolerate each other. :)
Thirdly, as this is my third academic year, I have to write my BA thesis in Italian. Well, it makes me a headache. The length should be around 20 pages. As for the topic, I'm in trouble. I would like to write about literature, more precisely about Ugo Foscolo compared with other authors in his era. This sound well, but it's not narrow and precise for a thesis. So I have to consult with my teachers.
Fourthly, I have to learn how to control the time in order to have enough of it for everything: for efficient studying, for friends, for having a rest and for pleasure. It means a really big challenge for me, but I'll try to do my best, of course. ;)

See you soon!

August...

Sorry that I haven't written so far but I had a lot of things to do.

First, I was working at a local hotel, called Nereus. It's a 3-star building right next to the coast of the Balaton. I was working as a waitress in August. This work was very interesting because it was completely different from all the works I had done before and I could get to know how a restaurant functions. Basically I had to bring the prepared food to the giuests, but I had other exercises as well. I had to clean the rooms of the restaurant, clean the spoons, knives and forks, plus help the people with the most relevant pieces of information. At the first teading, it might sound as if it was an easy job. Actually it wasn't. I had to be standing all day long or be in movement, so I could sit down only when I was eating. I was working almost every day 8-10 hours each day, so it has became fatiguing by the end of the month. All in all, I enjoyed this period because I could get to know a lot of people, I could eat delicious food and I can work there next summer, too. :)
Secondly, I had to find a flat for the schoolyear because I was rejected from the dormitories where I had applied. :( Fortunately I could find the best flat for me: its prise is not so high and it's very close to everything that is important for me: the uni and my friends :D
Thirdly, I had to compose my brand new order of courses. I will have very good lectures: Italian art history, Italian-Hungarian translation, Romanistics, etc...but the most important for me: FINALLY I CAN STUDY FRENCH! :) I have wanted to do this for 10 years and now I can. :D
So this month was a bit tiring for me but it was full of good news. :)

Holiday

Summer and vacation. These two go together for me. But as for vacation, a question could be raised: where could it be spent? Well, there are two options: staying in Hungary or travelling to abroad to discover new countries.

During the last week I did the second thing. As my major is Italian me and my family chose Italy, more precisely the town of Bibione. It is a relatively small place with 8000 inhabitants in the seaside of the Adriatic sea. This town is ideal for relaxing: lying on the sandy beach and having bath in the sea.

Actually we wanted to have a rest and get rid of the stress (for a while), so we spent almost every day on the beach. :D The weather was fine: the sun was shining all days, the temperature was above 35 degrees and there was a little wind, too.
Besides having rest, we made an excursion to Venice. That city is marvellous! It is one of my favourite places in the world because of its atmosphere and its unique feature: it is built on the water. When we visited the city it was under renovation so we couldn't see its beauties in the whole. Because this was the first time for my family being in Venice, we made a small circle with a gondola. The whole thing was incredible for us! The boat was navigated throughout small lagoons, moreover we could observe all the famous venetian buildings from the gondola: the Doge's Palace, the Bridge of the Sighs and the ancient prisons.

This vacation has been the best so far because everything was ideal to make it perfect. If someone is planning his/her holiday, I can recommend these places for having a fantastic holiday.
